Awas Amin

Bio

Awas is currently a Forty Acres Scholar at the University of Texas at Austin, pursuing dual majors in the Canfield Business Honors Program and Plan II Honors. Her commitment to service began with her role as an English teacher and naturalization advisor at a local refugee initiative where she developed a deep passion for supporting refugees and other marginalized communities. She aspires to continue this work by mentoring immigrants seeking access to higher education, helping them navigate opportunities and achieve their academic goals. At UT Austin, Awas is an active member of Texas Consulting, a student-led organization that provides pro-bono consulting services to clients across various industries nationwide and helps prepare undergraduate students to enter into the field of finance. Outside of her academic and professional endeavors, Awas demonstrates entrepreneurial creativity, having previously managed the finances of her own small business crocheting and selling handcrafted plushies. In her free time, she enjoys thrifting, baking, and playing volleyball.
